Hello fellow RSBLers. I had the chance to chat with Brian Butler for a few minutes recently. He is looking forward to co-managing with Jim Melillo this season.
Brian is married and has a five year old to keep him busy. He and his family moved here around a year ago from California, where he grew up a Dodgers fan. He started playing strat at the age of eight, buying his first game from a toy store. I remarked that this was the same way I started playing the game, although at a bit of a later age. He played with some friends for a while and joined his first play by mail league at fifteen. He has played in several leagues since then and found himself looking for a head to head league when he moved to Richmond.
As luck would have it he came across an advertisement for the RSBL while on the Strat-O-Matic website. He gave Mike Parker a call and decided to give our league a chance. He has since met several of our members and thinks the league is just what he is looking for. The only thing that keeps him from fully committing to a franchise right now is the time involved in running a team by himself. He is very anxious to play some games this year and ease into the league. I feel he will be a good addition to the league...
P.S. Brian Butler & Craig Eddy were involved with managing one of the most exciting All Star games in RSBL history in 2003...
